Who makes it
ConcreteCounts is built and maintained by an independent software engineer. It started from a simple frustration: most concrete calculators give you a number without saying where it came from, and the numbers don’t always agree.
How the numbers are made
- Every constant — bag yields, densities, bar weights, code limits — comes from a manufacturer data sheet, an industry association or adopted code text, and is listed with a link on the sources page.
- The calculation code is tested against published examples, such as Sakrete’s bags-per-post-hole chart and the per-foot volumes on Sonoco’s tube forms.
- Every figure was last checked on October 1, 2026. The whole site is reviewed at least once a year, and whenever a code edition or a manufacturer’s data sheet changes.
What it isn’t
These are estimating tools, not engineering. Footing sizes, reinforcement, slab design and anything structural belong to your plans, your local building code and, where needed, a licensed engineer — they override anything here.
How the site is funded
ConcreteCounts is free and supported by advertising. Ads are labeled and kept out of the calculators themselves. Advertisers have no say over what the calculators or guides say.
Corrections
When a number turns out to be wrong or out of date, it’s corrected promptly and the change is logged on the sources page. Found one? Get in touch.
